The Parador de Salamanca has as its selling point the views of Salamanca across the Río Tormes. From its hilltop perch, they are the best to be had in Spain. In the context of Spain’s other appealing paradores, this one lacks history and style. It is vast and spacious and was in need of an interior refurbishment (the new look should be complete before the publication of this book). The private balconies and view make the stay worthwhile.
